Does anyone know where to place the diode in our rangers to prevent the alarm from being triggered when the truck has been parked for a little while and the GEM sends out the diagnostic electrical pulse? This is really starting to annoy me and I'm sure it is annoying my neighbors, any help would be very much appreiciated.

i had the same thing happen to mine when it was installed a few weeks ago.. unfortunatly tho, i wasnt around when they placed the diodes in the lines to stop the triggering, so im not sure where you'll need to put them. try asking a shop. F150s have the same problem but its much more known about it in them then it is in a ranger.

lemme get my service stuff up, It has to do with the door trigger wires, from the GEM.

Ok, since my manuals aren't cooperating with me, I can only get a little bit of what I wanted up:

In that photo, you'll see on the bottom to the right of the middle, 2 wires (one GY/RD, one YE/BK) I believe thats where I got mine off of, I don't know if the 2002's colors got changed or not. That's off of C221, behind the radio, the biggest connector going into the GEM.

Take this info at your own risk, and check with others to see if its correct.
