I have a 2001 3.0 ranger extended cab. One each side, behind the front bumper there is a wire with a plug on it. Does anyone know what those wires are for? Are they for something that I do not have on my ranger, everything works fine, just wondering what those wires might be for. Tom

You can also pull out your radio bezel and look for a yellow/grey connector which would be for the foglamp switch.

 

I have the same thing- two plugs hanging down, one on each side of the bumper, because I pulled my fog lights out

 

Most likely fogs if you have XLT or higher package they came prewired if you had them or not. They used a universal harness. i even have the 4x4 plug behind my radio even though its 2wd.
