how to fix low idle on a 90 model 2.3

HI all new to site and need help to increase idle on my 1990 2.3 ranger. Idles at 500 rpm and stalls out all the time, going around corner or just putting it in gear.the screw on throttle body does what? doesn't ajust the idle so why is it there? also the front plug on aod trans is not plugged in as the truck harness is 3 pin and trany is 2 pin, other wise truck is stock with a engine overhaul. thanks for any comments or suggestions. Steve in central Georgia

No No no all you have to do is tighten up the bolt on your throttle body it pushes the throttle out and causes the rpms to increase or decrease very easy and simple
