Still having seat belt Chim/Buckle Problem. Need Help

Ok so I made a thread a month or so ago with the problem I have and still havent fixed it. Here’s the problem, when I buckle my driver side seat belt in it doesnt register that it is clicked in so the chime goes off for a minute or so and repeats about every 15 mins. (Btw it’s a 06 4x4 ranger if that helps in anyway). I know how to disable the chime but that requires unbuckling and buckling the seatbelt and since it doesn’t register when its buckled I can’t disable the chime. I have tried spraying WD-40 into it like someone stated hoping to free up anything that could have been stuck but it didn’t work. I unplugged the wire under the seat and that didn’t do anything. I also notice that the red button has a crack so I'm guessing that has something to do with the problem. Any suggestions? I was looking into a new buckle but the cheapest I found one was $70 and I don’t even know if that would fix the problem. Is there a way I could cut the wires and tie the ends to gather to complete the circuit and fool the truck into thinking it’s plugged in?

disconnect the connector and the seatbelt, jump the wire with a paper clip, if the light goes out and the chime stops replace the seat belt buckle.
