Replacing ignition cylinder

I'm still tracking down the cause of my weird electrical draw when my truck is off, over the weekend I did some testing and was still trying to rule out any possibilities as to what it could be, well, my key cylinder has been broken since I bought the truck, it can spin in any direction with or without a key so i went to the junkyard and pulled 2 with matching keys.

I get home, pop one in (it wasnt the problem) but I cant pull the key out? Is there something that would prevent the key from being removed in another vehicle even though its completely functional?? Does it matter that it came out of an automatic vehicle since mine has a manual trans?
