Best Buy's Keyless entry systems...?

Does anyone know which kind of keyless entry systems and car alarm systems Best Buy sells. Heres the story, i want to get a keyless entry system on my GF's car but all the ones that Circuit City has are really ugly, its only one brand, i think its python.

I looked online at bestbuy.com to see if i could see what they sell, but they only sell them instore not online, because they want to install them, so they dont even list them on the inet. Anyway the closest BB from where i live is an hour away, and i dont wanna go driving there if it'll just be a waste of time. All i want are maybe names of the brands they use and i'll look on the inet to see if i can find a manufactuers picture. Model#'s and all are even better, i would also check a Best Buy flyer but we dont have one here since its so far away...

please anyone who maybe has a flyer and a couple mins, please look that up for me, if you want you can post a picture or just give me a model name and i'll look it up... if there are any othre stores you think i shoulid check out let me know as well

thanks

J.D.

CC has viper too...BB has viper and Avital and i think audiovox

r u trying to get a full alarm system or just keyless entry is where you need to decide. Python is on the bottom of the totem pole for DEI technologies which included Viper Clifford, Avital, etc. Also python is more so for the do it yourself installation.

another thing is you'll have to get a box to overide the chip security in the key...

they have the most expensive one for sure the keyless entry with remote start and all. i think viper only makes one. BB pretty much sells all of the avital products and CC sells the mid to high range Viper products even the ones eith the pager remotes. you can't go wrong with a Viper. Avital is the same as viper but less features...i have an alpine and i'm gettin remote start and keyless entry soon so i'm gettin the Viper 560XV

I used to work at Best Buy as an installer. They carry the following Viper models

160xv: keyless entry, remote start, no security features
350hv: keyless entry, no remote start, security features
571xv: keyless entry, remote start, no security features, 2 way remote
771xv: keyless entry, remote start, security features, 2 way remote (1 on my truck)
971xv: keyless entry, remote start, security features, 2 way LCD remote

For more info go to www.directed.com. The MSRP is usually Best Buy's price installed (or a little cheaper). I must warn you that the installation is going to be very basic. You have to pay for other features such as dome light supervision, window relay, prox. sensor, etc.

(EDIT: I realize now that this is for your girl's car. I am going to leave the rest just because.)

Also, if you have a 98+ you will need a separate module for remote start. We have a chipped key which emits a particular frequency when placed in the ignition. There are several to choose from, but I would recommend the DEI 556SW ($80ish). You will not have to give up your spare key with this unit. Unfortunately, BB will probably have to order it which will take a week.

Hopefully this helps and you can sift through my rambling. IM me if you have any more questions and I'll answer them the best I can.
