A/C Bypass Switch:
Hands down.. you -need- to do it if you have air conditioning... This thing is amazing! Just did it last night, and it really wakes the engine up when your wanting to cruise down the road and dont need the A/C - but want your cool air still blowing through. The Freon in the air conditioning still chills the air thats being ran through it - not as much as runnign the compressor.. but more then enough to provide a cool environment.
Benefits:
*Free's up Horsepower
*Cures the engine "pulsing" when the A/C clutch kicks in
*Improves MPG's by freeing up engine drag... just like an underdrive pulley kit, and clutch fan delete. (If switch is turned off)
How it works: You make a cut in the line that sends the signal for the clutch to kick in and get the compressor running, then install a simple switch to flick it on or off - a rocker switch, some simple electrical connectors, and a few feet of wiring only runs about $5 and this is simple the most noticeable gain you will get for the price, and small amount of time put in.
How To:

I'll say it agian.. if you havent done this yet - pull off that front panel, and do it! I can promise you won't regret it - I personally ran the switch through my glove compartment as it wont be switched on and off all the time.
I also verified - if you are using an LED rocker switch, the signal being sent through the switch isnt enough to light up the LED sadly - You are better off just going ahead and using a base line rocker with no special gimmicks.
DO IT! NOW! It takes 15 minutes if you have your tools ready, 30 minutes if you gotta dig through and find the bits and stuff.. sooo stupid easy you'll regret never having done it!

Scangauge is as good as the odometer style MPG guessers.. I don't really trust them too much - as there are way too many figures to be runnign the guesswork - I do the ol fashioned gas station MPG test - proper math, lol..
I'm not worried about MPG myself.. I realize that through my driving habits, I usually get 12/13/14 miles per gallon, since most of my driving is in city - This is just one of those mods that is guarenteed mileage because of the less engine drag - of course - if you drive with the compressor in the off position, it wouldnt change much - but I like the defrost/foot setting, this lets me not have to have the compressor on for it :-)

Its actually pretty simple - If I feel up to it.. I coudl honestly make a video to show the cable needing cut, and where I mounted my switch - just need a crimper, some electrical connectors, wiring, and a switch.

This lets you shut the compressor off perma with the switch - and still pull air through the air conditioning system thats been cooled by the vent.. hence - Free AC

Basically you are adding a recirculate function and a a/c button because for some reason most American cars don't offer these functions.. Normally the AC pump cycles on and off when you have the selector in any position(yes even with the heat on) other than off, face or floor. When you want the a/c on just close the switch.

so the switch actually kicks the compessor on, but when the vent is on it blows are through the coils which makes it cold also, without the compressor? but without the switch mod, and u turn it on lets say feet area, its warm kinda air, will it still do the same, how come air doesnt flow through the coils on vent?

I'd like to try this. Ford has changed a lot of the wiring colors for '07. I have that red plug, but it looks like
From the top down, I have green/gray, green/orange, green/purple, and purple/gray. Does anybody know, is it still the top wire? Has anyone done this on an '07+? Thanks

Thts a good question, I didn't get a chance to look at mine today but i'd assume its the same, I hope someone can chime in on the differences

For 2007, the switch can be used in EITHER the green/brown OR the green/orange at the Function Selector Switch.
So, from that statement, either the first pin, or third pin can be used - splice into either, insert switch, mount switch, and done :-)
