Chirping in dash

Hello folks, I need advice if possible. 1989 4x4 xlt Ranger 2.9 auto.Suddenly have a chirping noise in the dash cluster area. Chirps when put in drive, reverse. and on bumps it is not constant. I have tried without success to locate this irritating noise. I have asked this question on other forums only to recieve comments like to turn up the radio, feed the birds etc and other comments like these I even laughed at them . But I really need advice . And if anyone has detailed instructions to get inside the dash or have had a similiar problem please share with me. Thanks in advance

Parakeets?
Noises like that suck to track down sometimes, especially when they are deep in the dash or a door panel. My wife's jetta had a couple that I could never find. I figured if I pulled the dash apart I would probably break clips and create more noises. Good luck to you if you dig into it. If you only have one annoying chirp on an 89 you're doing alright.

There is a lot of good info on this site too, might have a look.
