Looking for someone with a Scangauge and aftermarket intake

For all of you that have a Scangauge and a after market intake (specfically a open filter design) I want to do a little experiment. Let the truck warm up fully for a few minutes and find out your intake temp while idleing and then while going 55-60mph. I just want to see if there is a difference between a open element and the stock airbox design. Thanks!

Today (100* outside) the intake temp went up to 125* when stopped for about 5 minutes with the engine running! When I was driving, the intake air was 105*

The K&N is coming off soon...

it will make a difference in the summer, it actually gets hotter air, but in the winter it will run completely different.

I run an open element filter like this to actually see the filter, also water cannot get trapped under the filter like in the stock box.

Cooler weather here recently....i'm noticing temps of 65ish while driving down the road with 192* water temp.

There's SOOO many different variables here...it'll be hard to get a good idea on the 'goodness' of the 'cool factor' of an aftermarket intake.

I honestly can't wait til i cut up my k&n tube to make it work with the Roush filter box!!! I noticed great improvement from that with the STOCK rubber crush tube! compared to the MAC and the K&N. Filter fully enclosed from the engine FTW!
