My truck went thru weight reduction today!

yeah, so after today, my truck is now a little over 200 pounds lighter! it feels great, lol. i can actually feel the difference a little bit.. here's a few pics..

Pic 1: here was the sub box.. notice i never bother to carpet the side (ran out, and never bothered to buy more, i knew i was taking it back out eventually).

Pic 2: the brain has been removed from the box! i took out my amp "shelf".. that thing by itself was pretty damn heavy.

Pic3: this is whats left. a rat's nest made of wiring. no need to label any, i know what they all are, lol (hopefully).

Pic 4: here's the box up on it's side.. it was a ***** trying to get it to slide out without anyone else's help.. i finally got it though.

...and i forgot to mention.. i have no idea where that ford emblem came from in the 3rd pic... i found it after taking the box out.

also, i took the box out because i am going to start to build a new one, again. it's gonna suck having no radio for a little while, but oh well.

I sure love the taurus front emblem you have. It makes me wish my truck was an older model where I could do it.

i took the box out because i wanted to start to build a new one. i didnt have any measurements for the back area, so i decided to just rip everything out, so i could have a nice new empty space to work with again, instead of trying to measure around the box, etc.. (itll just be easier this way)

and yeah, that's the emblem to my front grill, lol. i completely forgot i had it in the truck. i had it back there when i first built that box (was going to mount it somewhere, but never did..). all this time i thought i knew it was up in a box with my stock intake and taillights, corner lenses, jump seats, etc.. apparently i never put it back. i checked my box after i posted, and noticed it wasnt in there, so that's that.

and for the subs.. they're 12" aluminum 8800 series Eclipse subs.. they're not in production anymore, sadly. that box was built to specs, and yes, it was huge. this time around, im going back to a sealed box, to keep the size down a bit. (now i get to have fun and create another box for myself!)

im most likely gonna break the legs off the back of it, and mount it to our shop door.. it's kinda worn a little bit (not worth selling).

i had a locking storage compartment in the center (opened between the seats). this time around, i dont plan on doing that again.

that was the initial plan for the storage compartment- for straps and what not.. it quickly got filled with changes of clothes for 4 wheeling, etc.. lol. and i found a Crunch bar towards the bottom... wasnt' pretty.

ya thats why you dont put a lid on it so you can see what you go in there. plus my truck stays pretty clean inside not alot of extra stuff. and ew...on the crunch bar....gros haha

the box has a huge part in a good sounding system, not just the sub and amp. i could take a piece of **** sub and make it sound decent with a good box.

true cubic ft of airspace is a huge factor but the box in that picture is huge. im not saying put your sub in the smallest box possible im just saying you dont need a box that big not trying to argue so any way what are you putting in now
