Damn...I ask a lot of questions...

Has anyone changed their dash lights to blue? And if you did were you pleased with the results. I know dash light bulbs come in different colors, size and +/- illumination factors. Are LED's available?

Thanks...

I liked it back when I was younger but I grew out of that phase and kept it all green on my current truck.

To sum it up:
If you were to do it, you'll need to peel off the overlays off of the plastic, sand the green paint off of the back of them, and then use blue glass paint over the back sides of the digits. Once thats done, you'll need to "re-calibrate" your speedometer (simple AA battery and 2 wire leads on alligator clips) before replacing your needles.

I know Shane will probably post the link to his thread once he sees this.

This picture below was the cluster on my old 1999. Blue glass paint and white LEDs behind the overlays. Minor "hot spots" but it didn't look bad in person.

I got a thread. Hang on.

Edit.

Thats the calibration process. Its pretty strait forward to change the light bulbs, the calibration part is gonna be the hard part.

The link I was going to provide, was ruined by Cardomain.com and their recent site overhaul. The process is as described by 99offroadrngr. Remove cluster, remove needles, remove gauge overlays, sand off the color from the back side, apply new transparent glass paint and/or use colored LED 194 plug-ins.

There is some reading, but here is the original gauge color changing how-to that was written back in 2004 or so. All the pictures are gone, but the words cover it all: http://www.cardomain.com/ridepost/60...r-regular-cab/

Should you choose to remove needles, please follow this link PRIOR to removing the speedometer needles: https://www.ranger-forums.com/interi...s-only-104556/

I've grown out of colored gauges.....brighter stock green is what I'm about now. But here, enjoy these:

If you have some money to spend... go to Black cat customs and see what they sell.
If you can't find it on their site ask.
I got an older Ranger Dash overlays and the Heater Panel done in red.

I have not grow out of it nor do I think I will, kinda of an Audi thing.
I still had of the other coloring on the overlay but the main color is red.

Black Cat's pricing is not cheap but reasonable... about $120 for both the dash, three piece set and the heater panel and he does great work.

If I can locate the site I will edit the post.

Here is the site for the ranger dash.
He will do custom work and custom designs so talk to him.

http://www.blackcatcustom.com/Ford%2...r%20Ranger.htm

He also has some LED lighting, not sure what exactly but use a strip lighting to even things out.

Luck,
