Water repellent Air Filter

Water repellent Air Filter
I was looking at Wayne's precharger type filter covers for open element K&N's. I started to think...I'm getting my materials together for my new Hybrid Snorkel and was wondering what filter is made of the best water repellent type media? Keep in mind, I'm looking for a stock replacement for a 4.0 SOHC. If this snorkel works out as good as the last one, I really shouldn't need it. I figure if I'm gonna spend the money anyhow, I might as well use the best filter possible and do it right for that extra piece of mind. Thanks in advance guys!

K&N or any oiled filter any day of the week for water resistance.
Its simple, oil repels water.
We had a perfect example a couple years ago at a meet in barstow. Both Sean and Jacob dunked thier truck in the same water hole, killing both. Seans paper filter needed to be put on the bar-b-que to dry out while Jacob was able to shake his off and keep right on driving.

A water repellant outerware may provide that type of protection when new, but the protection goes away quick and it is not designed to protect under heavy water conditions. They will handle a quick splash, but I would not ever consider doing what is shown in the previous video. For further info, you should contact outerwares at 1-800-967-3450 . They can better answear any question about there product. With my last post, I was under the impression that you were looking for a direct replacement for the stock filter using the factory airbox.
