my air conditioning takes forever to get cold

how long should it take to cool down? i only do short driving stints across the city but it takes forever to get cold. i took a road trip last weekend and on the highway it seemed that way too. however once it was cold, it was nice (always is right?).

ayways, does anyone know how long the warrenty covers the ac unit? someone i work with said it might only be a year. i'm really hoping not since that means i only got one summer out of it.

any help is apreciated.

Mine only takes minutes to cool my truck down, even in the sweltering GA summers.

Hell, after about 5 minutes it will freeze you out. I find myself turning it down to low without even thinking about it.

I would either take it to the dealership or call them about it.

My 03 takes a while to cool down. I'm sure a recharge will take care of that.

yea, last year was the first year for it.

we started putting them in the igloos so when we hunt whales in the detroit river, the meat won't spoil.

Wow, what a great year to get then. I thought whale hunting was illegal. Maybe it is like those of us here (US) who hunt the Bald Eagle, lol. National treasures = naturally tasty.

mine doesnt take too long. if i close my pop up screen on my headunit it gets cold a lot faster. but when thats open it blocks the two middle vents. which push more air then the outside ones.

today heat index of 110 and I remotely started the truck at work 5 minutes before leaving.

I got out there and it was freezing in the truck. windows were all the way up also so it was probably 150 plus in there

i brought it to the dealer and they "fixed" it. i was a little annoyed. they didn't tell me what was done as far as if they just recharged it or if they found a leak and patchd it.
it's cold now, thats all that matters. if it comes bac, i'll go back.

EDIT: i called the dealer since i kno they don't have my updated address for mailing me things. i asked what was done. she said they took off the wheel and iner fender to get to the pressure switch (?) aparently i had a broken wire. so that was fixed.
