aux driving light amps

i have a pair of bostch aux lights on my roll bar that came with my truck, but i dont know the amperage on them, so i dont know what to get for a switch for them....i'd rather get a switch insted of running a relay.....anybody have an idea how many amps they run?, and maybe where i can find a switch?

^^^^ X2 Strongly recommend running relays and fuses

Most driving lights are between 50 to 150 watts and draw roughly 3.5 to 10.5 amps each. If you run two lights rated at 50 watts (each) they'll draw 7 amps total. That will push the limit of most 12v switches. I know, they make switch's rated up to 20 amps, but touch one that’s been on a while, it gets pretty warm, and I've seen more than one melt and smoke a wiring harness.

Great diagram.
Correct me if I am wrong. So the switch circuit is a low "load" and the light circuit is a high "load". The relay acts as a switch where the low "load" side closes the circuit to the high side. In this manner the heaviest draw is straight from battery to load (lights in this case).
