1988 ford with gremlins.
hi ive got an 88 ford ranger with gremlins in it, im having a problem with it suddenly just dying and refusing to until its cooled. i have replaced the control modual and the thermostat and the distributor and both fuel filters. spark plugs and both fuel filters, the throttle body positioning sensor seems to test fine with a voltmeter and still it will randomly leave me stranded somewhere inconvient and ill have to wait until its cool before it will start again and run for a while. ive been doing some reserch and ive come to the thought of a crankshaft positioning sensor but can seem to find the darn thing. any help or thoughts would be greatly appriciated.

we have replaced the control modual twice. and the distributor and the ignition control modual. with all of that could it be the computer going out? or maybe the crankshaft position sensor? im starting to consider maybe replacing the battery even though it tests good or the starter or alternator as last resorts.

possibly , but it is more of a electrical control failing when it is heated to a certain point
have you looked closely at the electrical connector to the ignition coil, check for burning , melting , corroded connections .
it is most likely a electrical fault leading to the coil
the old jeep cj 7 `s suffered this problem , the engine began stuttering when warm , they used ignition control boxes that were sold to them by ford , they did not meet ford`s quality control specs
are you using a brand new ignition control module or a another used one
