Dead battery charging problem

Hey guys, It's been a while. I hope you all had a Happy Holiday Season. I am posting on here because I have ran into a little battery trouble. I think I might have left my XM radio receiver on in my truck for a few days but I am not sure. I checked my truck yesterday morning and it was completely dead, no lights, locks or sounds what so ever. After about 45 minutes of fighting with my door locks I finally got them open manually since the electronic locks don't work. I popped the hood and hooked the battery charger up to the battery. When I did something near the battery started making a clicking sound and my interior lights on the dash and over-head started blinking to the rhythm of the clicking sound. When I turned the key over (as if I was starting the truck) everything stops. Is this my anti-theft going off while I am trying to charge the battery or something else? What is it and what can I do about it? I am sure my battery is toast since it died and it's been below 10 degress the last couple of weeks. So I plan on getting a new one. I just need to try to get my truck running so that I can get out and buy a new one.
Any suggestions would help. I would appreciate it!

I'd leave it on the charger on a trickle charge for an overnighter, then go from there. If needed, throw it in boost mode and that should get her crankin'. I think it's just a cold weather old battery issue. When it's cold out, batterys have a hard time charging back up from when they've been dead.

If I pull the battery from the truck it reads full charge and my charger wont charge it. When it's left in the truck the lights flash and it has that clicking sound. I don't think I can charge it this way. The clicking sound and lights would be going off and on all night. Unless there is a way to stop that?

Sounds like your battery is done for.
DO NOT jumpstart the truck with the dead battery in it.
That will ruin the regulator inside the alternator and cause severe overcharging.
Get a new battery.

glad you got it sorted out. if i were you i would still put a voltmeter across the new battery and make sure about the readings coming off the alternator at idle.

what kind of battery did you get?
