I'm wireing up my OHC in my 08 at the moment, and am not sure about something...

Console VSS: Gray/Black ---> Purple/Orange (pin #1 of the center PCM connector)

where is the pcm connector?

 

What instructions are you going off? In 07 the changed a lot of the wiring so its not the same instructions.

 

The PCM is in the passenger side firewall and it has 3 connectors in the 2007+ Rangers. The VSS color code for the newer Rangers is Purple/Orange and it is on the #1 pin of the center connector.

ok i've put this on the back burner for a while, but finally got around to it.



thats what i see when i look at my passenger firewall.
that is the only purple/orange wire i can see anywhere, but i always thought that was my satellite radio?
there are no other connectors that have a purple/orange so is that the right one? hopefully i can get a reply soon, thanks!

Passenger side firewall under the hood. look for 3 connectors in a row plugged into the PCM.

 

oh under the hood, crappy haha. i'll have to dig around and see if i can get at it, its dark and effing cold right now, but tomorrow maybe
