E-Fan Problems

I've got the Jusnes Efan. For some reason I keep blowing the fuses. I need to get it figured out soon otherwise the OEM one is going back on. I have a sneaking suspicion that the ac override is causing it, but then again not because it was blown before I even turned anything that makes the ac turn on on. Please help, because I really don't need my truck overheating this week. Thanks in advance.

you're either getting too much of an amp draw to the fuse or somewhere in your wiring you a have a short...

i would just go through and shake down all the wiring, looking for chaffes, breaks, loose terminals and make sure you're double checking every single wire you hooked up to make sure it's wired in correctly...

also, if you have a two piece relay, seperate it and look inside at all the contacts to make sure they don't have any corrosion or burnt contacts inside

I'll have to check the wiring again, the relay is a two piece so I'll be checking that as well.

i dont see how it could be the a/c but what fuse are you blowing?

also where did you tap into the a/c? which wire? and where?

The fuse on the main power wire for the fan, the 30 Amp one. As far as the ac wire, I used the one behind the hvac panel, so the purple wire.

ok well it shouldn't be the a/c then, i just cant see how it could be, not for that fuse.

maybe a short in the controller or relay issues, even the fan itself could have some issue.

if it blows that fuse the problem is in between and including the controller and the fan

Is the relay on the fan controller the same as the ones for say the blower motor? Because I've got spares of those. As far as everything else, it functions correctly before the fuse blows. Or at least I think.

if the fan comes on, if even for a second, i'd be willing to be that there's a short in the fan motor, like in the brushes or something

The fan is fine when it runs because of the temperature, but when it tries to turn on for the ac the fuse blows. I think the wire probably got chaffed or something, I'm going to re run it this weekend.

if that was the case you would be blowing some fuse that dealt with the a/c not the 30amp fuse.

But the fuse on the power wire for the fan only blows when the dial is in a position that causes the ac to run. Basically the ac override seems to make the fuse blow if that makes sense.

I'm thinking it's not just the ac override. Because the fuse blew when I wasn't using any of the positions that require the compressor to turn on. So I think I'm going to put the stocker back on for now. Maybe when the summer comes around I'll get it back on.

If you have a ammeter, put it inline to check the current draw. You may just have a bad fan motor that intermittently draws more than 30 amps.
