Need HVAC help.... screwed up this time

So I was going to reinstall my inner fender wells after not having them for 2 years. I undid the little ball condenser thing that usually is mounted on the fender well and it was just hanging. I totally forgot I undid it and drove around with it hanging for 2 days. Today i heard it fall off and got it off the side of the road luckily....One of the hoses came off at the ball, the other one pulled off/ broke from somewhere, and I can not seem to find (with my limited searching) where the line goes.

Can anyone post up some pictures of where those hoses run, or maybe a shop manual image of where they go.

Thanks

I guess you know that's a vacuum reservoir to provide consisten vacuum to operate your HVAC dampers under throttle conditions that might normally result in low vacuum to the equipment.

The line you're having trouble following dives under the cruise control and around the heating blower on passengers side and enters the firewall there. It's a pain in the neck to get to. I'll see if I can find an illustration, but I have no pics.

It's not too bad Alon. I redid most of mine when I eliminated the vacuum ball. Normal vacuum hose fits over the hard lines perfectly.

So I can eliminate the ball alltogether. Just connect the two lines that run into the ball together?

If i cant figure it out, I may be stopping by your place sometime this week.

Eh... I wouldn't. I mean you can, but what it will do is not allow the A/C to work with the truck off, it will just default to defrost. It will also do this under hard acceleration, or just normal passing, when vacuum isn't really present. It was mildly annoying when I was driving the Ranger everyday. If you can live with that then yea, you can get rid of the ball all together.

Let me know if you need help, I should be around.

Can't find any diagrams unfortunately. The Ford service CD's don't appear to address that system at all, sorry.

Yes, and if you click your brake shoes together 3 times, and say "there's no plate like chrome" you will return to the land of Kansas...
