Body Damage... Easiest fix?

Ok guys. So awhile ago I put a big ol bash in the bottom side of my bed. Long story short, I'd like to fix but only it's going to be somewhat cheap.

Anyone have any good suggestions?

Right now I'm thinking I'm going to go up the local junkyard and have them cut that corner of a bed and then just figure a way to get it welded into place after cutting the bad corner out. I mean this doesn't have to be perfect, more or less just a project I was thinking I could try out. I know I'd have to get it painted but who really care at this point. Haha... maybe I can do that afterwards as well. Some good experience with body work.

Anyway, appreciate any tips on what I could do to take care of this.

It hits 100+ in the summer for a few weeks, and is very humid.

Is the side panel for his bed removeable? Like a fiberglass bedside you can just remove a side. Because you could go to John's Auto and find an undamaged driver bed side and swap it and repaint

I was looking for a bedside for 93 up beds like yours and couldn't find them. You can buy a patch panel thet goes above the body line for like 40.00 though. It actually looks worse than it is. Try your luck with a hammer and body dollie, you'll be suprised how much of that dent you can get out. Of course the best way is a new bedside, ford wants about 800 for them and a couple hundred more for paint.

you can remove the entire panel, but you have to drill out all the spot welds

you could just cut out that section and replace it

Hellzzz no. Fleetside all the way baby. Never did like flareside personally.

But from what you guys are saying it seems like it's going to be quite an investment to get fixed. So probably not really worth it since it's pretty much just a truck thats going to get abused.

I did try and beat it out with a hammer a little bit last week and it looks a lot better then it did, but I don't think I'll ever actually get it out.

I was thinking about doing something like this:

Cut off a bed about at the black line on a good bed at the junkyard, then cut my bed at the crease. That way you've got some lip to tach weld into. Who knows though. Might be a fun project some day.

How is it the easiest to replace the whole bedside?? Like mentioned above, you gotta drill out ALL the spot welds, unbolt everything from it.....take the bed off to get to the spot welds infront.....THEN, align the new bedside perfectly, and reweld all the spot welds, then repaint and bolt everything back on. How is that easier???? It would be so much easier to either hammer the dent out, or cut out the dented area, and reweld a new piece in.

actually it isnt really all that hard...all you have to do is unbolt the bed and take the taillight out and the gas filler neck and the support braces and then about 30 min worth of drilling then you are good there and then just slap the new side back on and spot weld/rivet everything back together....would say it would take you a day to do the whole thing

Drilling spot welds sucks. I'd rather contract AIDs from a fat chick.

My jeep has lotsa spot welds, they make me hate myself.

Ok, this is getting out of hand! No need to go replacing the whole bed side or the entire bed over a little dent. Ya'll are making a mountain out of an ant hill. Not to mention, you're going to be spending alot more time and money doing it the other ways.

im not sure it would be worth selling.........a dent that size is really going to decrease the value. Would be best to part it out.
