Did anybody here install an overhead console on their 07 Ranger and noticed that there is only one wire there instead of 2? John's instructions to install the map and dome light mentions that there are 2 wire to connect too, but my 07 Ranger only has one. I connected the dome light only and it works, but I was wondering what to do for the map light connection? I don't really need it I guess but I was just curious. Did anybody have the same issue I did with their 07/08 Ranger?

It's because 04+ didn't have a domelight with map lights so the wire wasn't there. On the 04-06 you have to run a wire from behind the dimmer switch its a Light Green/Orange.

 

Did you ever figure out which one was the wire for the dimmer switch for the 07?

For 2008 owners:

Im still messin with this. Im gonna tap the 12v outlet (since its always hot) for map light power. The violet/red wire on the radio harness does NOT work for map light power in the 2008.

Another one that is not the same for the 2008 is the dimmer. It supposedly is the blue/white on the radio harness, but that doesnt work. All other wires are the same though.
