Add on Tach for 2000 Ranger

First post, and I know there is a hundred of these topics, ive searched already. And I know everyone here says switch clusters. Well I just want to add a tach on, but cant seem to find the signal wire "Inside" the dash

I have a 2000 xlt 3.0 distributorless.

I have a autometer tach, set for 6cyl already. I have my gauge cluster removed, but not sure where the signal wire is? I hear its a tan/yellow. But I want to be sure it works for my year. Because I seen a few diagrams for 2000 only says, "TACHOMETER - TAN/WHITE - Location: Ignition Coil" Also, if anyone has a picture where its located?

Thanks!

Use the Tan with Yellow stripe wire. You can find it under hood, passenger side (above the blower motor on the firewall) at the PCM on pin 48 or down by the parking brake on the fire wall or behind the instrument cluster. If you use the tan with white wire at the coil pack it wont work.

Thanks for the confirmation!

Its almost all setup! I figured it was pin 15 on clip C214 but I just wanted to make sure. I just wired the power and lights to the dimmer switch, and the ground to the metal plate under the steering column. Works good so far, Havent taken the truck out to see how accurate it is though. (Used gauge)
