you should hook them to a switch, they will put out too many amps for the stock lights.

Plus if you want to use your lights independent of the reverse lights, having a switch is super handy

Make sure it's a lighted switch.

Nothing worse than leaving them on and draining your battery to nill.

That's true, wish I knew how to do that when I wired my fog lights would of saved me several dead batteries, because of where it is, it gets flipped on some times when I move the shifter to park.

I have some on a switch and I wish i would have just ran them off the reverse lights, much simpler use and you dont have to hit a switch every time. I find that i hardly eve use mine since its that much more work. Just use a relay and you wont overload the stock wiring. you could also do both so they come on in reverse automatically or when you flip the switch, best of both worlds.

Get this kit. Its well worth the money and all the wiring is almost literally done for you. You can even get a switch add-on kit for it. i did find however that i had better light output after installing the fog light lenses and not the spot light ones.

Rocker switch, toggle switch, I just made sure mine lit up when it was turned on, so I could see it before exiting the vehicle.

My front fog lights are on a toggle switch, with a light, but I miss the small light half the time, and leave them on, wish I knew how to just connect them to the parking/driving lights.

Just use the power input for your switch to your illumination wire for the stereo. Keep battery power for the relay. Problem solved.
