ABS and Parking Brake lights on: '95 Ranger
While driving today ('95 Ranger, 130,000 miles, 2WD, rear ABS only), my ABS and parking brake dashboard lights came on at the same time.
Any thoughts on why both came on? I thought that it might be related to brake fluid levels, but those appear to be fine in the reservoir.
Is this something that I can possibly try to fix myself? I'm pretty good with my hands, but dont have a lot of automotive experience.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I have tried just shutting off the car and restarting, but it doesn't make a difference. I have also disconnected the battery cable, but it definitely returns again.
The parking brake light stays on as soon as I start the truck. The ABS light turns on when I start the truck, shuts off briefly, and then comes back on again after a few seconds.
Again, any more detailed suggestions out there? Thanks.

Check the fuse related to the abs, I pulled out a fuse months ago and both my p brake light came on along with the abs light. There are a couple related to the abs and one affects a few other devices then the others. I believe the one I pulled for the light show was a smaller 15-20 amp in the cab. The main abs fuse is in the engine bay. Could be simple as that

OK, its not the fuses in the cab. I'm trying to figure out which one is the right fuse in the box under the hood. My owner's manual seems to show a different configuration than what I'm actually seeing. My owner's manual says that there should be a separate set of relays near the left front wheel under the hood. But I'm not locating it.
I have been reading up on swapping out ABS sensors. I only have rear ABS, so I am thinking it's the block-shaped thing above the rear diff. Is that a difficult thing to replace?
Thanks for any other help.

The fuse box on my wheels is on the firewall above the master. And the abs sensor should be 1 bolt then hopefully the corrosion won't be a pain to pull it. Not a hard fix but defeniatly clean the area well and don't let junk fall into the housing. Pull it out as straight as possible. Grab one from the wreckers and give it a try. Can't hurt..
