Computer death

I think my truck committed suicide in the driveway. '93 STX extra cab 4.0L 4x4. Just replaced the O2 sensors and started it back up. Was running rough so I cleaned the plugs. Ran better after that. Next day I went out to start it and all it would do is roll. No fire what so ever. To the mechanic. Computer won't compute. Things running that shouldn't, things not that should. Spontaneous failure? I unhooked the battery while installing the sensors and it did run. Don't know what to think. Hate to waste a computer because I don't know what caused the failure. Anyone heard of something like this? Help.

thanks,

Tim

sounds like the battery that maintains the computer memory failed
should be easy to replace the battery and reprogram the computer
