I tried searching the site and did not find the answer I am needing. I have a 2003 ranger XLT v-6. It is not wired for cruise, I have looked on the passenger fender and did not see a 10 pin connector. I have access to all the parts, complete steering column, and all under hood hardware. Does anyone have a detailed idiot proof start to finish installation write up for this? I have 2 options for the parts, a complete 1998, and a partial 2000. If the 1998 parts will interchange, that would be the easiest as far as getting all the parts. However, I do not want to have to do any wiring modifications under the dash to make the column cork. Any help would be appreciated.

 

I have done this to my 03 edge 3.0. You must do some wiring work. If I recall correctly, mine had the wires from the column to the firewall. It had none of the wires in the original column or under the hood. I made the harness for under the hood. I got a engine side firewall connector from a junkyard and added the needed pins/wires to my under hood harness to connect to the interior wires. I added a tilt wheel and it had the cruise wires. They plugged in to the factory under dash wires.I "think" my column is a 2001. Yours has PATS. To keep things simple, you'll need a column or column harness that has PATS. My steering wheel is from an Aviator and has very custom wiring . A stock wheel with cruise will be plug and play with the correct wiring and clockspring.
Added the wires in the engine compartment firewall connectors is a task where you need to really pay attention. If you're not going to run new wires under the dash, then you will have to add the wires to the firewall connector. Factory wiring diagrams for all years of parts are a must have to do this properly.
At the very least you must have the correct cable to match your engine. The servo would probably work on any engine. Although a 5 speed servo would be different than an automatic one. The module on the servo controls transmission kickdown on the automatics.
