Cam sensor question

Hi,
First time poster here,

I'm looking at buying a 2007 mazda b2300, and the only problem is that the trucj recently had the Cam sensor replaced.

The guy selling the truck said that there were no symptoms, and that the truck just would not start one morning. After changing the spark plugs and wires, he discovered that it was the "cam".

The reason for the quotation marks is that all he said was that he replaced the "cam", and refereed to it as the central computer of the car. The man doesnt know much about cars evidently.

My question is:

Given that the Cam sensor broke, is there any problems that oculd arise as a result of the sensor breaking? Should i avoid this truck?

2k7 b2300, 90k miles.

Thanks,

jvi
