Gettin too hot

New here and hope you guys can help.
I have an '83 4x4 with 2.8 (original motor)
New water pump
New rad.
New t-stat
New antifreeze
Hoses seem to be o.k.
Still getting too hot.
Fine on short trips, of course, and with no load in the bed.

I hope a four o is in it's future but I can't kill the two eight in the meantime.
Where do I go next?

I need the truck for work and for hauling my camper and Bug around so I'm gonna have to do something.

you might have some blocked coolant passages in your engine block

you will probably have to pull the cylinder head

i was going to say replace the radiator but you already did that

try back flushing the block through the coolant passages first. you may have a head gasket getting ready to go.

Even if the radiator hoses "seem" ok , replace at least the bottom one. It can collapse on the inside while the outside looks normal.
Recheck the t-stat . It could be a bad one or , and I've seen this happen when people get in a hurry or distracted , upside down.
Is the fan blowing air out the front of the truck when idling in the driveway (this recently happened on here) ? Yes they can be installed backwards .
