Many aftermarket tachs will operate from the factory tach signal (tan/yellow wire, PCM pin 48). I would guess that an accessory shift light would work the same way.

yah...but aftermarket tachs have an adjustable setting on when the redline is, then the light will go off...

i wuld just have to make it come one once the needle hit a certain RPM....

but i got no idea how i would make it realize when it hit that spot...

and yes, its for the civ-rice...i tend to hit the rev limiter often..... =)

haha...I hate the limiter on the rangers, feels like the truck will fall apart. I like the toyotas hitting the limiter w/ the babababababababababababa.

I don't know how to get the shift lite wired up to stock tach....w/o the controlls to set the shift point. On My autometer silver 5" monster, there's that square on the right to set the shift point for the lite to lite at, maybe there's someway to wire up that "control box" for the lite to the stock tach. Maybe pull apart a monster and see how it's wired up to the tach its self. I know that you push the button, push and turn the **** which is attached to the needle on the tach to figure out the shift point. I wonder....

Neat idea.
