help my remote start!
I have PATS in my truck I bout the bypass kit. Intalled it. The manual from the alrm is tellin me that I need to find a 12 volt wire when the truck is running, and they recommend the Tach wire or the oil wire. We tested the tach wire and the volts is suppose to change when you step on the gass and it dosnt. Where is the oil wire? Got any Ideas? I have a truck with the dash pulled apar and my friend and I are beyond confused.

The only difference would be is if he didnt want power to go to it when he turned the key all the way back to accessory power. If that was the case, he could tap into one of the wires going to the HVAC controls. I am not sure if it is the same colors for all years, but this what I used on my 2004...
Either the gray/yellow or the black/light green feeding the HVAC control panel

ok well what I can do for now is to get my buddie in here to give u a better explanation of what of what this system as asking for . see i guess i was a idot for buyin a alarm w/ a remote start.
see I do know off the top of my head that we have it to the point where everything is set and when to try to remote start the truck you can hear the relays click but the engine wont turn over.
do think part of this could be from having a open circut from not connecting the wires for power windows/locks, sence my truck dosnt have them?

/\/\/\/\scroll down the page and you have all your info there, but always test the wires first just to make sure. if you dont know how you should not be doing the alarm. all the power connection to sustain the alarm are either the batter or the ignition harness(attached to key cylinder). recheck the wiring, do not conect wires that are probably not terminated correctlyt like the windows/locks. which bypass kit did you get. if it is the ring around the key switch 555f then you will have to mess with it for awhile to get the right spot. to check if it is right at all you can put the key in the truck and turn it forward but not on. then remote start it. if it turns on then the problem lies in the install of the bypass module.

There is no way to disable PATS. Which bypass kit did you get?? There are 2 available, 1 is where you physically put a spare key in the little box and tuck it way, if you used this one, did you put and keep a key in there? The other is where it will learn the code from the key so there is no need to lose a spare key tucked away under your dash. If you used this one, make sure that you have properly programmed the box to remember your key code.
Also, like was mentioned earlier, it can be a ***** to get those loops in the exact right spot around the ignition to make them work. Maybe you should try playing with that as well..

like i said if it starts with the key in the cylinder then the bypass kit has to be positioned right. bet ya the bypass works its in the install. hot glue or tape into place the ring for the kit. or you can...nevermind im not gonna give away all my installer secrets
