grinding/whirling noise from rear end....video

Watch the video, you will easily hear the noise. I have no clue what it is.

Truck is a 1998 Ranger 4x4 Skip ahead to 35 seconds.

Pull the rear drums off and see if any spring or shoes have come apart.

Just had a adjuster cable snap on me, similar noise. Yours sounds worse. Like something is stuck between the shoe and drum.

adjustor cable snappage is so gay dude. I've taken my rear drums apart to the point i now know how to put everything in its place but your first time is...gay. So expect to replace the rear shoes if the cable has done good damage. You might not have to. And replace all the hardware in the rear drum. It's not that expensive to replace the lil metal pieces and makes it all pretty til the same ****ing problem happens.

Hence, why we all want disc brakes on the rear.

I hate drum brakes, with a passion! Stupidly complicated for how little braking they have compared to disc.
