hard and slow. Please help

2000 3.0 v-flex. all power supply is good in the truck but the starter has a very difficult time turning the truck over. It really whines. Could this be caused by the solenoid or should I replace the whole kit? It takes roughly 9-10 starter revolutions really slowly to get her up and running. it just started withing the week and want to fix it early. Common symptoms? ways to fix?

Just bring her up here. I get off at four. We'll troubleshoot. :-P

Sounds like a weak starter.

battery is brand new (3 months) same with all of the major electrical components. The starter didnt give any signs just one day went out and it would barely cycle
