88 Ranger 2.9 V6 Voltage
How much voltage should I have going to coil? Should it be 12 volts? I cannot get any fire to the plugs. I have installed new rotor, distributor cap, plug wires and coil wire. The fuel pump is running.I have read that the inertia switch under the dash turns off the fuel pump during a crash to prevent a fire, and it also said that it turns off the fire. Is it possible for this switch to shut off the fire and still operate the fuel pump? Having problems trying to trace the voltage from the battery to the coil.I had to put a new clutch in it, and have not had any fire since.I put the speedo cable back in, plugged in the wire to the top of the transfer case, and the wire into the side of it or the tranny, don't remember which. Is there something I'm missing? Thanks.
