Check your frame. See if its drilled for several locations. I had an earlier ranger that saw 3 different SBF engines. The cross-member unbolted and was able to be moved forward and backwards .
Why a T56? Your going to need a 8lb hand sledge and moving that firewall seam flush with the tranny tunnel in order for it to fit. Its also going to be kinda close to your floorpans.

i wanted to drop in the t56 but all i ever read about online was that you would have to do some cutting and fabing to get that tranny in there. ya the thought of a 6 speed ranger is orgasmic but for the price and work im just dropping in a high performance t-5 which should hand the 500 hp ill be putting through it. let me know if you get the t56 in and how you did it. i just dont want to hammer and cut under my truck or on my fire wall
