heat controls messed up

heat controls messed up

i have a 1996 Ford Ranger Xlt standard cab with 2.3L 4Cyl. My heat seems to work all the time. When i drive down the raod..i can turn the first **** to the lowest and turn then temperature **** to anything and then the position **** can be anywhere..and heat still comes out of the floor and vents. please help me out if you know what i can do to fix my heat..cause down here in GA..its not always cold in the winter..and with this heat running 24/7...it isnt a comfortable ride..lol. please email me at usmcwhitener@aol.com.............thanks.

take of the heater core cover and check for leaks. Its under the glove box and takes like 20 seconds to do. After that take the control pannel off. Make sure the cables are ok. Thats all i can think off right now. I live in alabama and its 16 degrees at night and in the morning. I have the opposite problem with heater core blockage lol. Its cold in my truck.

Blend door is stuck or broken, common problem.
