winches, winches and more winches!
so i have been thinking about getting a winch a today i get a eail from 4wheelparts.
http://www.4wheelparts.com/4wp/produ...RN&expand=sub3
m8000 for 550 shipped....i haven't seen this unit this low anytime in the last year.
so my question is what will i NOT be able to do with this unit? go swimming? pull out a f-250 out of the ditch?
and should i just save a few more bucks up and just buy the xdi9000? i can't figure out the difference between the to as which one is gunna better for my one road/off-road uses of the winch.
thanks y'all
2005 4x4 black edge 4.0
mods:k&n aifilter that adds 50 more hp! :p

I bought a REP 8.5 (8500 pound, permanent magnet motor) from Sams Offroad (www.samsoffroad.com) for $400 SHIPPED. It's a great winch if not fast and it's American made (yes, I plug American made products, lol).
Get yourself a ****** block and stuff to anchor your truck and you can pull F-250's and fullsize trucks out of many (though not all) stucks. A good ****** block (rated 16,000 pounds or more) will allow you to double the effective pull, at the expense of the distance you can pull.
The M8000 is a fine winch from what I've heard. But unless you're strapped for cash (like I often am) or impatient (like I often am, lol) then getting the best winch you can seems a good idea and maybe you should look at higher ratings if you're going to be doing anything extreme like pulling your truck up rocky slopes.
