What do I need to change my 2004 over to the 2001-2003 grille
A couple of weeks ago, my parking brake decided not to work for me and the truck rolled into the garage. Tweaked the bumper, dented the hood, mangled the grille, and broke the fiberglass part behind the grille. It also knocked my headlights right out of the tabs that hold them in. I didn't find that out until I drove home tonight around 8:30 and my light beams were bouncing all around.
The fiberglass part behind the grille, is that what you guys call the front clip? I've done a search on ebay for 2001-2003 front clips, but didn't find anythingto show me what it was, so maybe I'm not searching the right parameters.
I'm thinking about changing over to an 01-03 grille if I ever get the money to do so. It will be a bit of saving, because the current hood won't match up, and the cowl hood I'd like to get is upwards of $400 -and the house gets my money before my truck.
What would have to be changed out on my 2004 to throw on the 2001-2003 grille and hood? And again, what is the front clip?

What is the header panel, is that the fiberglass part right behind the frame?
Trust me, I've thought about it.
Just like you said, in your opinion. In my opinion, the 01-03 4x4's look the best. That wide, unobstructed honey comb grille makes the front of the truck look bigger to me and I like it.

Anyhow, I want to get a cowl hood.

hoods are different from the '01-'03 and the '04+. The '04-current year have a cut out in the hood for the grill.

I'd really like to go with an stx grille, but the only place I've found them are on Jusnes Modified, and they're a bit too costly. I need a new header panel anyhow, and my hood is not fixable without a bit of work, I've only seen full cowl hoods for the 01-03, so that's what I'm goin for.

I'm not finding anything for a header panel on their online site. Anybody know where I can find a part number an price for the 01-03 and 04-07 header panels?

FDRG49E0 Headlamp Mounting Panel (01-03) $28.75
FDRG10S0 Grille (01-03) with argent mesh, paint to match $45.75
(Texas prices, not sure if they are different)
The hood they have is the steel one, I think like the flat ones the xls have..
look at www.car-parts.com for junkyards near you..
