Looking for an easy tap into the low/high power on the third brake light...

Hooking up my rear led aux light into the low/high so it will flash when I hit my brakes, but not tapped into the brake light on the rear (It will blink when Im using that particular turn signal.. and not blink when the other one is in use)

Just looking where the wires meet down in the hood or under-chassi somewhere, or perhaps a better spot to tap in somewhere, maybe on my trailer hookup? Give some advice on where you would tap into, any assistance woudl be fantastic! Thanks!

OK two weeks is a long time, did you get this done ?

I installed an LED 3rd Brake light in my 03 Edge, the light came with Cargo light locations but the truck had no harness to the light (I think it was at the cab roof but no further, in fact the old light was all red).

I decided to turn my Cargo Lights into standard directionals (as someone else did on the site) and I found the wires under the drivers seat.
My assumption is that the brake light wires should be there too.

Changed my wiring up just a bit and keeping the center au light to just the low power form brakes - not needing it to flash.. ordered up 2 more and tapped those directly into teh brake lights to either side on both high/low and have a good result from it =)

Help me out a little, what are you referencing when you say "high/low lights".
Do your brake lights actually switch between the high and low power ?

If so, how did you do this ?

Thar she be! Just now uploaded it - so Youtube will take a few minutes to recognize it if it hasnt popped up yet!

For the curious.. the setup Im running is 3 18" 3 LED bars with High/Low/Ground wiring on each.. mounted directly under my Tiregate and spare tire - fully visible to traffic behind me. I did 2 coats of Nightshade on each one to dim them down and give a more ambient color to them... keeps them under the radar when they arent on as well. Works fantastic, and have gotten some great comments on them so far!

Hey interesting video.

I didn't see anything happening to the 3rd Brake Light.

The lights are bright, nice, but i was expecting something different.

What was the "high/low" thing you mentioned, I missed it completely ?

Oops yeah.. nevermind the 3rd brake light - these are just some LED bars off of a trailer supply store - They each have three wires running out the back for wiring them up - High Power, Low Power, and Ground - lets you wire them straight up to brakes, turn signals.. or anything else you feel like hooking them up to - takes less then 10 minutes to tap into the brake lights when doing this per side

OK now it makes sense...

Luck on the hook up,

Again look under the driver's seat for the connector (mine was there in an '03) and probe using a multi meter or 12V Probe and see what you can find. I found my directional wires to the back and hooked them up to the Cargo lights through this connector; I spliced in before the connector
