Stock horn question

Ok, my horn sounds like crap. I'm wondering if theres anything I can try or does this signal a new horn? Any ideas where I can get a good price on one? Is this a plug and play thing, or do I need to solder wires?

Also, I looked at parts.com, they have two horns, a single note and a dual note, how do I know which one I need?

Thanks

Would a generic horn do just as well?

Stock horns are junk. BUT....you can take the stock horns off the stock bracket, and put on aftermarket ones. I had a good ol $10 Wolo low tone on my international...and was very satisfied with the sound. Nice and loud compaired to the dual Fiamm's on the ranger in stock form.

Cut off the wires at the stock horn. Blue is Positive. Black is negative. You already have it relayed and fused from the factory..simple butt connectors...bam! done.
