Im helping my friend install a viper 791vx into his 00 Acura TL . . . here is his post. Ive never had a problem getting great help from you guys so i thought id turn here.


"Ok, here's the deal:

long story short, installing a remote start/security system and shorted out two pins in the 4-wire, green harness on the passenger side fuse panel that has the door trigger wire in it. The symptom i have is that the DOORS WILL NOT LOCK but will unlock when the key is in the ignition, however will work fine (lock and unlock) when there is no key inserted. i checked EVERY SINGLE FUSE on the driver side, pass side, and egine bay boxes and ALL are fine. PLEASE I NEED HELP FAST or i will dirve my car off of a cliff (a cliff in FL that is).

Well, if you said you shorted two wires together I'm willing to bet you fried a module to make it do random things like that. If you had an open circuit you most likely wouldn't have any door locks at all.

 

the weird thing is that the locks work fine until i put the key in the ignition . . i dont even have to turn it. oh and now it will apparently work when the car is running. im so confused
