Help Needed: Windows Stuck Halfway Down

So the previous owner of my 04 2.3l reg cab installed aftermarket power windows, and now they're stuck. Found windows to be wired to a harness under the steering column, behind the panel by my knees, with an in-line fuse and a bundle of wires ending in a black box. Out of the top of the bundle of wires is about 4 inches of black wire showing about half an inch of fresh looking copper. Suspected it to be a ground and reground it to no avail. Any insight?

Do you know what brand it was? You may have to look at the motor in the door panel.

Also I would press the up/down switch and check for voltage at the motor.
