10" brakes on a 7.5?

10" brakes on a 7.5?

anyone know if i could mount 10" brakes on a 7.5? backing plates drums ect.... i know i could do other things and get disc but im just woundering about swaping 9"drums to 10"drums

yepper no problem there is tons out there that have it normally any ext cab has 10" and there is 7.5 in ext cabs I had 10" on my reg cab with a 7.5

is the braking any better with 10's over 9's i dont wanna make disc fit or buy a expinsive kit or swap a expo axle

Why not get an 8.8 rather than spend money on a 7.5? That's what I would do. But, as Zach said, it can be done no problem.

Shouldn't have any problems, but like said above you could just buy an 8.8 with 10" drums on it and you're done!

My 7.5 rear axle truck came with 10" drums from the factory. Just look for Super Cab trucks in the scrap yard and they should have all the parts you need.

For the work involved though, a disc conversion may be a better idea.

i have a set of 10" drums and backing plates sitting in the carport if you want them, shipping may suck as that whole set is a little heavy

thanks man but i just put new 9" drums and shoes on today if these f****ers start making nosie again i my take you up on the backing plates if i did the swap i would probley just order some new drums
