CB: finally found problem

I've always had a chirp sound come through my CB, but occasionally it wouldn't. But on my 6 hour drive home from base today i finally figured it out. I had my CB on about 4 hours, without a problem...then it started to rain. So the windows went up and the A/C went on...and then immediately i had a chirp sound come through about every 5 to 10 seconds.

It does this when the A/C or the windshield vents are on heat or cold. If its just the floor vent it doesn't do it.

Any idea's of what would cause it and a possible fix? Thanks guys

The only common thing I see is the ac is running.

The ac runs in all positions expect floor only and vent only.

Im willing to bet you have a bad ground in your install.

As stated above re-check where you've tapped power. You could try replacing AC relay or may need to install a spiking diode at both the relay and or the AC clutch plug to eliminate the pop

I powered the radio using rg-8 coax straight to the battery. It eliminated all the interference from the truck except this.
