Can't remove body graphics, HELP
I bought a 96 Ranger with a horrible graphics package on it. The kid put plastic chrome along the lower panels. I'm trying to get the old vinyl off put it's not budging. Goof Off HD didn't work. I'm thinking a propane torch and a scraper? Anyone got a suggestion. Too cold here for a blow dryer but I'm afraid to use a torch for fear of ruining the paint. Anyone use those wheel erasers? How did they work? Keep in mind I have had two back surgeries so heavy back work is out. I can get the adhesives off once the stickers are off with the Goof Off but need to remove those graphics.
Thanks

Thanks Blossomforth -
I bought a 3M paint and rust remover at the autoparts store but I think it's not the right thing to use.
I used a number of different things today: Aircraft decal stripper, Goof Off Heavy Duty, Blow Dryer, scrapers and a 3" putty knife. The blow dryer did well until I got to the baked on decals. Then I used the aircraft decal remover. It worked better than expected but not perfect and took several sprayings and scraping. I ended up removing paint around the baked areas. I then used a glass sticker scraper to strip off the excess vinyl that wouldn't come off. Been quite a job. Next is removing and cleaning all of the glued on chrome coated plastic along the rocker panels. The kid that owned this put so much crap on it. The plastic crome crap is going to be removed another day using the blow dryer and the 3" putty knife. If I get this all done by summer, I'll sand and repaint the areas where the stickers and decals were. I'll need advice on how to do that when the time comes. Until then, it's Guiness beer time.

Thanks STX,
I wish I had used the wheel. Now I'm going to have to sand and repaint the area where the decals were. I planned to paint it anyways but now I have to. The plastic chrome has adhesive backing covering the entire back and it's a bear to take off. It's brittle and stubborn. The metal putty knife and a blow dryer is the only thing that works.
