Icon8 Dim off-road lights

Ok, I have a slight problem. I've searched and couldn't come up with anything. I had a set of pencil beam off-road lights given to me with the brushguard i bought. Don't know what brand they are. they had 55 watt H3 bulbs, one of which was blown. I bought 2 100 watt Pilot brand H3 bulbs. The 55 watt bulb is brighter than the 100 watts. All the wiring is good, new relay, clean connectors, good power and ground connections. I don't know what else to do other than buy more bulbs which i would rather not do. Anybody know of any possible solutions. Oh, and they come on slow also. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Is the power source for the relay coming off the battery? It sounds like you don't have enough power getting to the lights. If you have a Digital Multimeter I would start tracing wires and checking voltage and continuity throughout the wiring.

Well there is a reason it only came with 55 watt bulbs. Put 55's back in and it will work much better.

I've gone to bigger bulbs as well, and to be honest, I couldn't tell the difference between the 55 and 100 watters.

Until they melt and they'll get dim really quick.

I put 55s back in and they do better. I think i'm just gonna break down and get some KCs or Hellas that'll really shine! I need bright and long distance. So, any suggestions on which ones? I don't have much time to investigate cuz of work and other more important matters.

I'm running both Hella's and PIAA's. IMO, the PIAA's are better. They shine way farther down the road.

Regardless, you'll need to run some heavier gauge wire....which I believe is the root of your problem.
