Fuel pump shut off switch

Fuel pump shut off switch
So a couple weeks ago my truck shut off, I went to the shut off switch and it was tripped for some reason, I reset it and nothing happened then I wiggled the connector on the bottom of it and it started up and it was just fine until tonight my truck died and wouldn't restart. I pulled the plug off the bottom and it's cracked and looked a little burnt like it shorted out or something. Tommorow is sunday and ford will be closed and I gotta get to work on monday morning early so I was curious if anyone has ever bypassed this stuipid thing or has any ideas on a fix until i can do it right when I have time?
Thanks

There must be something in the air, I have a base 2004 B2300, and the same thing has happened, twice, in three days. I've yet to check my wires, but I wonder if this module gets kicked by a passenger if it will cut flow to the pump. I was just about to replace my fuel pump, and then thought that 6 years is a pretty short life for a fuelpump. Before replacing the pump, I thought I'd check the switch again even though I was sure I had done that previously when the truck was stuck by the side of the road yesterday, and it fired right up, and I heard the "whirrrrr" of the pump pressurizing.
What amperage of fuse did you use when you bypassed the switch? I was thinking of just wiring it across.
What seems to be the life expectancy of the fuel pumps in these trucks anyway?

That's what I'm gonna do if my warranty won't cover it. The switch for a factory one is 115.00 and the pig tail is 50.00 from ford. The parts guy said there wasn't a recall on the wiring or switches for the 2005's but he said that it isn't the first time he's heard of it happening on newer rangers
