98 add on cruise not working

98 add on cruise not working

hey guys added oem cruise to my truck and it does not work at all. what would the most likely problem with it be? I added the servo and cable, clockspring and switches. any help would be good.

did you test for power? if your truck didnt come from the factory with cruise and you added it on it might not work because there is no circut for it...i know toyota does this but idk about ford...they will have connectors there for it but they are just dummy connectors to save from having to make other wiring harnesses

our trucks supposedly come with the wiring for it, just had a pigtail clipped to the passenger fender for the cruise. im not quite sure what to test right now.

edit:: forgot to mention, horn still works as do turn signals. so that should eliminate the clock spring correct?


edit again::: tried to enter diagnostic by holding off switch and turning key to on and no light on the dash. it would light up regardless if i have all the other things or not correct?

ford is infamous for not putting cruise control lights in their dashes...mine has a light but you can get cruise without the light...yea your clockspring is fine not sure what else to tell you

there was a light in there and it looked ok so idk now?

you prolly just dont have the whole circut in your truck...

as far as i know, as long as i have the servo i should still get the diagnostic light to come on though.

checked all fuses, checked my jumpered brake pressure switch. any other ideas? i got everything from a jy if that helps any.
