code reader?

is there a programmer/code reader for the older rangers? i dont wanna pay a shop just to pull a simple code...thanks

I'm not to familiar with what years do what, but I know the newer years (I think 95+ use OBD II codes) and earlier years use OBD I.

I have a OBDII code reader for my Ranger that I picked up for less then $40 at CT. Nothing special, just lets me retrieve and erase codes. Sure beats paying a shop to read them for you or having the chumps at an auto store do it.

If you've got an AutoZone near you, they will read the codes for FREE.
