SWR tuning

For all you CB buffs, Is there a way to tune the antenna on my CB radio with my digital multimeter instead of a SWR meter?

no hang up, I just don't want to buy one. And I already have a good DMM so I thought I could use it.

What kind of CB do you have?

Alot of the trucker radios you can set the meter to SWR and key the mic and adjust the ***** as needed.......otherwise go to a CB shop and they will do it for free / 5$

I live in central NJ no such thing as a "CB shop" around here. I have a crappy 40 channel radio shack model CB.

I'm not sure where at in NJ you are, but look for a TA truck stop. I know of one on Exit 18 off RT-295. They will do it for you. There may be a slight charge, but it's still cheaper than the $25 meter. Maybe give them a call 1st, before making the trip.
