LED Dome light Stays on.

OK...I did a search and didn't find an answer. I went and bought some LED bulbs for my Dome and map lights. I got the 212 for the maplights and 904 for the dome. When I put them in, they stay on. When I turn them on they get brighter. Did I do something wrong or not do something to make them work? I would love to have these in my truck...they look sweet as hell!!!

HELP!!!!!

your going to need a resistor i believe... im guessing that theres always power going to the bulbs and the regular ones needed so much that they didnt light, but since the LEDs use so little they light up

Im running 912(or 922) in map lights and a 44mm festoon in the middle(both leds).

I did no mods to the electrical system.

What happens when you put the stockers back in?

The stockers work normal. These are Replacemant LED at a "big truck" chrome shop. They should plug right in and work.....I thought?!?!

try putting them the other way. They take little energy to illuminate but ANY voltage will get them to light up how ever dim it may be.
The cathode and annode are polar specific and if the dome is wired oddly, And i think it is. {The one in the S-D crown vic and mustangs have wire inside the plastic.} It may be getting V+ and V-. with the switch off.

With no bulbs installed
doors shut
dome light off

Use a Voltmeter to measure the voltage of the screws attaching it to the roof.

You should have zero volts.

Im thinking you may have a small voltage leak coming thru the dimmer switch.
